ATTENTION ALL SMs to PRIORITY MISSION

WHO:  ALL VCASNY Officers and Enlisted requested to attend and potentially participate as needed

WHAT:  Memorial Service for Paul Roura

WHY:  Supporting the family of one of our own

WHERE:  Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick, NJ 08724, (732) 899-9090, parking available on premises

WHEN:  08 June 2024 (Saturday), muster at 1130hrs; memorial service begins at 1300hrs; approximate end time 1500hrs

HOW:  TBA, SGM Clohessy will advise, see NOTE for more details

UOD:  ASUs Preferred, OCPs authorized if ASUs not available.  Changing facilities are available at Colonial Funeral Home.  AR 670-1 grooming standards apply.

NCOIC:  SGM Clohessy

NOTE:  The Memorial Service begins at 1300 hours with the unfolding and refolding of the American Flag followed by the presentation of the flag to the family, a 21 Gun Salute and Taps.  A member of the clergy will be present for final services and Paul’s final wishes were to be buried at sea.  The family is in the process of making arrangements.  No other details are available currently.  The Family has requested a Marine Corp detachment for the flag folding and taps but as of this writing they have not responded so the VCASNY is preparing to conduct the final Honors for Paul and his family.  The VCASNY is requesting VCASNY Service Members with ASUs to be available for Honor Guard to stand post at the Urn and to conduct the flag folding and presentation to the family.  Also needed will be SMs in OCPs to participate in the rifle detail for the ceremony.  Orders will be cut for this mission.
