History: Powder House Day is celebrated annually to remember the events of April 1775 when the Second Company, led by the first commandant, Captain Benedict Arnold, demanded the keys to the Powder house from the local selectmen in order to arm themselves and march to the assistance of our Sister Colony of Massachusetts at the outset of the War of Independence. http://www.footguard.org/sched.html
