Gentlemen, as noted during the SRP Drill on 10 March 2016, the VCASNY is primarily a ceremonial firing battery. As such, when the battery is employed, all participants must be cognizant that their appearance, demeanor and professionalism directly reflect on the entire organization.

To this end, we will be conducting a series of drills leading up to this year’s Fleet Week kickoff on May 25th. The weather is getting better and hands on drills with the guns will allow us time to practice, evaluate and improve individual soldier proficiency.

These drills will be Two-Part, structured events with specific training goals and a clearly defined curriculum.  This drill will be the classroom component to establish basic understanding of the salute battery pieces and the responsibilities of the soldiers manning them.  The second part is TBA and will include hands on training of the pieces, including a comprehensive understanding of ceremonial firing battery operations.  The firing battery command is counting on your participation so that we may create a firing team that will confidently and professionally execute our assigned missions.

Please make every effort to attend this event and the coming drills TBA.
