As part of America’s 250th Celebration in New York City, we were able to schedule a private, guided tour of the USS Arlington (LPD-24) by the U.S. Navy for our unit.
We have a LIMITED NUMBER of slots for soldiers to attend, so please sign up promptly (and remove your signup if you cannot attend to allow others to go). If we exceed the number of available slots, priority will be based on mission and drill attendance. Sign up on the calendar is mandatory, but does not guarantee a slot will be available for you to go. We will confirm with you once registration closes on June 30, 2026.
The private tour will start at 1100 hours on Monday, 6 July, 2026, at Pier 88 in Manhattan (at the intersection of 12th Ave and West 48th Street).
You must arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tour time; tours depart promptly and latecomers will not be accommodated.
Please keep in mind that you will be touring a working Navy ship. In order to get a full tour, guests may be required to walk up and down ladders, ramps, etc.
The following information is provided by the U.S. Navy for your safety during your tour:
1. Bring plenty of water or hydrating drinks.
2. Wear comfortable clothing: Polo or T-shirts with jeans or shorts. Tennis/running or flat, rubber-soled shoes. DO NOT WEAR HEELS, SANDALS OR FLIP-FLOPS. Do not wear necklaces that can get caught, and bags that will be too heavy to comfortably carry all day. Ladies should not wear skirts as guests will be climbing ladders (Navy stairs).
3. Remember to bring sunscreen and/or sunglasses if it is going to be warm/sunny.
4. No large backpacks, pocket knives, electronic smoking devices, weapons or alcohol will be allowed aboard any ships participating in Fleet Week New York.
5. Electronic devices are subject to examination for functionality. All visitors will pass through a magnetometer and may be searched as necessary to determine source of metal.
6. Wheelchairs are allowed on the pier, but are not able to access U.S. Navy ships.
7. Strollers will not be allowed on any ships. Parents/guardians must be capable of carrying children up and down ladders.
8. The U.S. Navy is not responsible for any personal articles or property lost or stolen while left unattended on the pier.
9. PHYSICAL GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID REQUIRED FOR ALL ADULTS
